CampUMC.org The Camp Methodist Church, Shallotte, NC The Campground Methodist Church grew out of the preaching and work of the early Methodist circuit riders who traveled the old Georgetown Road, living out of their saddle bags and preaching to the people wherever they found them. The site now occupied by the present church facility was a favorite meeting place in those early days because it was here the two avenues of transportation crossed: the north-south highway and the Shallotte River.
BrunswickCatch.com Brunswick Catch In order to promote and highlight the Brunswick County seafood industry, a dedicated group of commercial fishermen, seafood dealers and restaurant owners developed a local seafood recognition program called Brunswick Catch.
OceanIslebeachFlotilla.com – The Ocean Isle Beach Flotilla is held each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The participating boats startout at Inlet View Marina at Shallotte Point with all kinds of boats “decked out” for Christmas! The Flotilla proceeds down the Intra Coastal Waterway ending up at Sharky’s Waterfront Restaurant & Marina where there is a gi-normous party in the main dining room (and all over Sharky’s) with a night of music and general Merry Making! All of this benefits the Brunswick Family Assistance Program!
MuseumPlanetarium.org The Ocean Isle Museum Foundation, Inc. (OIMF) is a non-profit organization with two facilities, the Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium. The mission of the Ocean Isle Museum Foundation, Inc. is to stimulate the general public’s interest in and understanding of the natural science, environment, and cultural history of the coastal region of the Carolinas, as well as a broader understanding of our earth, our solar system, and our universe, by providing quality educational features for both the public and school students through activities and exhibits.
